BOOT BASH BLOCK #8

BOOT BASH #8 is finally finished.  Please find the link on the right sidebar.  The boot top stitching is done with freezer paper templates adhered to the wool and then stitched around with 6 strands of embroidery floss.  Any less sinks right down into the wool.  Less would work for cotton.  So not happy about my machine stitching on the boot top but no time to redo.  Have to work for now, but YOU do better, ya hear???

Thanks for all the comments and prayers for my family.  Our little family is still in turmoil, but we are pulling together to heal.  I may have to raise my grandsons--still not sure of the outcome.  At any rate, my quilting life has slowed down considerably.  I am going to do my best to finish my Boot Bash Block of the Month, but will have to do it in my own good time so please be patient with me.  Oh "by the way"--this is the newest pic of me.  A bit frazzeled, don't you think???

Quilt Inspirations has inquired about doing a special post about my blog and Boot Bash.  I will let you know when it is posted so that you can travel over to take a look.  I am excited about it.  They have a great blog.  Be sure to visit.  They have a great TEXAS quilt up right now and some great "FREE" patterns.

While I am here, let me show you that I finished another Henrietta Whiskers block. You know, the one by Bunny Hill?

I now have six blocks finished and one more almost done.  The newest one is only a dream at this point, but not for long.
Ok, now for my Civil War Block World. Poor Barbara--I am so far behind, but have done four more. I will post them here and hopefully on the Flickr Group sometimes today along with Miss Henrietta and friends. Sorry, forgot to crop--no time to fix them. WHEW! Baby's awake!

You have my prayers. I used to work for the social services in FL so I am aware of some of the problems your family is facing.

Oh, my....thinking of you and hoping it all works out for the best. Family "situations" are so very difficult....and it's so hard on the little ones....but we do the best we can to be supportive, don't we?

You are in my prayers. Though I don't know what's happened, the babies are better off with you. Thanks for taking the time to keep the Boot Bash going.

Been there, done that, so I certainly will pray for your family. I really do appreciate your taking the time out to post the boots, because, I know taking care of little ones can be a full time job. How blessed they are to have you. God grant you the peace and strength you need.

Your grands are so lucky to have someone they know and love to help them. So many kids are given to people they don't even know and they don't understand why. With your love they will come to understand and believe they did nothing wrong to have this happen. If you are a Bible person go to Phil. 4:13. This verse always helps me when I feel overwhelmed with life. My prayers go with you and yours.

LOVE LOVE LOVE your boots!!!
my lil cowgirl is growing up and needs a cowgirl boot quilt to take to college -- so I am going to attempt a few of your wonderful
HAPPY BOOTS!!

Keep quilting -- your lil men will love sewing with you ... mine do -- we just make more boy things with alligator or pirate fabrics. They will be a daily joy...
God Bless your week

Lot's going on in your life! Me too, have not been able to keep up with my blog reading. I am looking at past posts of the boots blocks, really like them- lots! If I can get my DH to print out patterns for me I'm gonna try and catch up sewing blocks.
Bless you for keeping up with this, I'll say prayers that things smooth out for your family.
