Portable Big Block Flannel Board

A "show me how to make a Feathered Star" request from my friends has put me in Feathered Star mode once again.  I have less than two weeks to get my act together.  I dug out all my leftover stuff, my books, and my person pattern to see what I could remember.  I am praying alot too.  I posted a supply list and suggested that they make a flannel board by covering a 20 x 20 inch piece of cardboard with flannel, felt or quilt batting.  I had a brain storm this morning.  I decided to cover my large square ruler with a quilt batting case.  This will work great and when it is not needed, it can be folded and put away until next time.  Also, it could be washed if need be.

Pictures you ask?  I just happen to have some.  I have some packages of sample batting that I decided to use.  Three of them stitched together fit just fine.  I butted the edges together and zigzag stitched them.

You may have a strip wide enough left over from a quilt being quilted.  This would be perfect and eliminate the pieces being zigzaged together.  All you would have to do is stitch the edges.

Slip in the ruler and WA-AL,  I mean LA!

Works like a charm--a charm square, that is!

Upside down and the pieces are still attached.  Just took me 20 minutes from start to finish.  On to the  cutting of block pieces.  Later Gators!
