MY OWN BLOCK OF THE MONTH? ARE YOU KIDDING ME?

I have enjoyed all the wonderful free Blocks of the Month this year and often thought how great it would be to play payback. I have always loved to draw, but never thought I was very good at it. My stuff seemed to always look remarkably like someone else stuff. I sure don't want to be accused of stealinsomeone elses design. I promise you I drew this all by myself. I wasn't even looking at an image when I drew it. I am planning for each month to be a boot appropriate for the month that includes applique and embroidery. This block is not finished. Mostly the embroidery is missing. I would love to hear your first impressions. Please don't be kind. I want to know honestly if you would devote your time to this BOM for a year.

Hope your August is going great and you are getting all your activities in before school starts. That won't be long!! The recent rains we have had in Texas have made all look beautiful which is so unusal for this time of year. If you are visiting us remember that our Augusts are unually dry dry dry and not green with everything blooming as it is now. ENJOY and thanks for dropping by Molly's Place.

I have to admit that I probably wouldn't do it, but it is a darned great idea!

The boot looks great, and I think will make a great BOM, One thing I would like to see added is a little something----ex, heart in Feb. BOM, shamrock on March etc. Just my humble opinion

MOLLY! It looks GREAT! I love it and would love to do this BOM. Really, I would.

You are sew talented and you need to share this talent with the blogging world. It will be cool. People could send u pics of their completed blocks or you could set up a fliker group. Lovin' it!!!!

Count me in! I also agree with Kaye, the boot needs a little kicker. A flickr group would be awesome so we could see everyone's boots.

Am I to understand that these would be kind of like "designer" boots...with a different-looking boot each month? (Kind of like when the little shoes became popular that people collect and sit on shelves?) If so, I think that's a great idea. I do also like Kaye's suggestion of maybe incorporating a holiday symbol with them, if possible.....but might be hard with boots? Nice work, Molly! (With me, I print out patterns for lots of BOM's and then rarely ever make them...just because of TIME...not because I don't like them.)

Molly, that boot is great! My friend, Kate will be stitchin' this one as soon as you make it available. Here's some advice on posting a BOM - you will be amazed at how many people will want to do your BOM! I know I was!!! Offer it up and you will have fun! And so will those who stitch it up! If the boots are all cowboy themed, I have some fabrics that would be perfect and what I might be missing I can get from my friend Kate!!

It's a really cute block. I probably wouldn't do it but I'm very traditional.

It is such a great idea but I just know I won't follow through. I have all the blocks printed out from Gail's BOM and haven't stitched a darn thing...ugh!
I'd love to watch it develop and I'm sure that lots of people will actually keep up!

Well, I honestly tried to come up with something mean and nasty to say...but, heck, Molly...It looks so great, how could I? I would have to agree with some of the other comments and tuck a christmas leaf or two behind the boot with some red berries (you know the kind)...perfect Texas quilt idea.

I LOVE IT!! That is my honest answer. I would most likely do it as well. I'm not from Texas, but I love the state and this is a very creative way to express myself!

I bet the wildflowers are pretty now with all the rain!
