TIME FOR "TREE TIME" BLOCK 10

BEFORE WE START, IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR "MAGAZINE GIVEAWAY"  GO HERE

TREE TIME, BLOCK 10 IS UP ON THE RIGHT SIDE BAR.  I do have to tell you that it is not complete.  I am late gettng my stitching done, but I put up the pattern and the stitching that I have done so far just so if you are sitting on the edge of your seat, you can start.  You can even help with the design process if you so desire.  The block will really be a "Make it Your On". lol

For this block, I have in mind to learn one stitch and that is the Closed Herringbone Stitch.  I have seen this stitch used for leaves and want to give it a try. A search for a tutorial reveals that the Closed Herringbone is also called a Fishbone Stitch.  Go HERE for the tutorial.   A thick thread will make a better fill for the leaves.  A finer thread will make a feather look for the leaves.  I have used a 30 weight cotton.  I wish I had a green wooly nylon to try.  I think this would really look nice.  If you have this thread, and want to give it a try, I would love to see it.  I am back to stitching and will be back to you with a pic of the finished block really soon.
Thanks kids!!

Hi Molly,

Have you quilted your " A tisket A tasket" quilt yet? I just love those basket handles you made. Mine is done very traditionally like Anne's directions but I just love that little quilt. mine is not quilted and I was just wondering what you did to finish it. I even bought all the buttons from Anne's site to finish the quilt :0).

Happy Sewing
