Homemade Washing Detergent A Success!

Click the title and it will take you the recipe page. These ingredients were found at my local grocery story no problem.

You must grate 1/3 bar of soap into 6 cups of water.

Heat until melted.

You add 1/2 cup of Borax and 1/2 cup of Washing Soda and more water, and stir to dissolve.

Add more water--1 gallon plus 6 cups.
Stir it up and let it sit for 24 hours. We will see if it turns into a watery gel.

My homemade soap is close to yours. check out my story: http://osagebluffquilter.blogspot.com/2008/08/soap-making.html

I made a batch this week, and put it in 1/2 gallon milk jugs. I am taking to our blacksmith conference next week and selling some in the boutique.

I gotta go get me some bacon and eggs, you all made me hungry

My daughter has been making her own laundry soap for over a yr now...she is blessed with 5 children and truly has enjoyed 'going green'.
