BLOG THEME CHANGED

Well, my blog has a "NEW LOOK". It has had a western theme since it's beginning. How do you like the change. Do you think I have made a mistake changing the obvious western theme?
Maybe I have taken away what made me blog unique--WHAT DO YOU THINK? Inquiring minds want to know. Please comment~~~~~~~

WELL--I DECIDED TO CHANGE IT BACK TO WESTERN. THE PROBLEM IS THAT THERE ARE NOT MANY BACKGROUNDS FOR THIS THEME. I AM GOING TO HAVE TO LEARN HOW TO MAKE MY OWN. THERE ARE DIRECTIONS ON "Cutest Blog on the Block". IT'S JUST READING AND STUDYING AND TRYING TO DO IT. LESS TIME TO QUILT. I will change again soon, but for now I am different, but still Texas and western. That is me and how you know me. This is a good thing, Martha. Thanks to all who commented and helped me decide. You are all such wonderful cowgirls.

Personal Signature for your Blog

FYI--to those of you who have not discovered how easy it is to have a personalized signature for your posts. I kept seeing these neat signatures and finally did a search on Split Decisionz . This is such a great to site. Amy provides free tutorials, free-lots of things-plus will help you with anything if you email her. She guides you to a site called My Live Signature where you can design a signature. There are several ways to do it from just picking one similar to yours from a selection of fonts to actually sending in your signature or drawing it on-line and having them design it for you. I tried drawing it and mine just was not what I wanted (Actually looked like a two year old had done it) but yours would probably look great.

After I had decided on the signature that I wanted (mine is from the selection of fonts), I saved the code to my hard drive. I was going in and pasting the code into my posts each time I wanted to use the signature until I found the tutorial from Amy on Split Decisionz that explains how simple it is to have the signature permanently appear on each and every post.

Amy says you have to save your signature to an internet site like Photobucket, but I just copied the code that I had saved from my hard drive, then followed Amy's instructions below. Worked like a charm! The signature will be at the time, but if you place your curser above the signature it will inch down as you type your post and end up at the bottom.

THESE DIRECTIONS ARE FROM AMY--

Copy your signature's HTML code
Log into your blogger account
From your Dashboard choose "settings"
Choose formatting
Scroll down to where it says "post template" to the left of a text box
Paste the code into the box
Save settings
Now, each time you click on "new post" to write a post you will see your signature is already in place! Easy isn't it? Go try it!

Here is mine--I love the look! Go see AMY at Split Decisionz

I Am In AWE!

I went blog hopping tonight. It has been awhile as I have to admit that I get involved in my own blog and other sites online and fail to get into the reading of quilting blogs. I have to say that when I read most blogs I am in awe of them. These quilters are working really hard not only at quilting, but at reporting to us, the reader. You find their successes, their failures, read of their adventures, You join them as they try out new designs, see their progress as they decide which project they need to finish next. You can find ways they organize so that they can be more successful and read of tips that they discover traveling on their quilting journey. You never even have to buy a pattern as you can find an array of free patterns that very talented fellow quilters have put together and offer to you for zip. Most blogs incorporate a mascot that helps you stay interested--a cat or a dog, or both, sometimes two dogs.

I have added significantly to my follower list as I cannot stand to think that I might not be able to find a particular blog again. Be sure to check it out as I am sure you will enjoy them as much as I do. There are a million more that I have not read---I have to go.

A LEARNING SATURDAY MORNING!!

Well, here I am again--on the computer. I am glad to say that I think I have learned something very useful today. Through a quilters blog, I came across a website where you can create a Wordle. A Wordle is a group of random words grouped in a pleasing way. Find the website here

This was really fun, but in trying to figure out the ways that this could be saved to use in my blog I learned about "screen prints". On the web site, they say you are welcome to make a screen print. What is this, I ask? Another website explains that there is a button on your computer next to the F12 button that copies whatever is on your computer screen to your clipboard. It then can be pasted into any progran and cropped or edited. I have often wondered how people doing tutorials show you pictures of their computer screen as they are working in a program. NOW I KNOW!!
I guess all you computer geeks know all this and have known for years, but maybe their are other dummies like me who would be happy to know this. FUN STUFF!! Will come in handy in many situations.

It Worked! I have an icon in my Profile

I finally did it. I don't think I did anything different this time. I just copied the url in Html edit mode and pasted it back in my profile (edit mode). The correct url begins with "style"(second one). The url ends with jpg. The " marks are not included. The reason that I have not been successful may have been that there is a glitch with Blogger and it may have been that I was just coping something wrong and not realizing it. Success is divine! Yea!

A Beautiful, Beautiful Day

I want you all to know that this little cow multiplies fast. I have to download and then click "done" fast before another little cow is born. I guess if you didn't click "done" it would just multiply forever. I decided to try to do it over as the other post goes on into infinity. Only one cow to take care of now and we can't go to Padukah or Nashville, or Sisters. One cow will not make us enough money. Oh well, maybe we will get there someday. The day has been so beautiful--I have been outside working in my yard. I keep coming in to see if anyone has posted anything--crazy, huh. I am planting flowers and shrubs and playing with my bulldogs. I would love to swap plants with anyone who wants to.
Clark is gone to Houston to be in a wedding and I am dog sitting. Caden will be here tomorrow. We will practise hunting eggs and I plan to take him to the museum in Teague to see the train. He has two cows names "One" and "Two". He has other cows, but these are his favorites. He loves numbers, you know.
I keep thinking that I will go in the sewing room and work on my Round Robin Quilt for awhile, but the sunshine is just so wonderful. I hope all you Wackies and out in it getting a tan (not you Rhonda, you just get vitamin C.)

IT'S A F------LYING CHICKEN! (OR FRYER)

This is one block from my "Flying Chicken" quilt. It is a combination of two swaps. A chicken block swap done in a Brown Box exchange with members of the Freestone Quilt Guild and a Flying Geese Internet swap. You can see the whole quilt in my album on Picasa. This block specifically was posted in an attempt, an attempt, mind you to make it my icon for my profile in lue of my photograph. Alas, after much time spent, it still is not in place. This particular block is special to me as my dear "crazy" friend, KE, made it for me. ISN'T IT CUTE! I love it. As I view other quilters blogs, I notice that some chose to use icons in their profile and when they post comments their icons show up beside their name. I don't know why it is not working. The directions in help say to post the picture in your blog, change to edit html, copy the address and past in the profile where the photo line is. I tried everything I knew to make it work and it just will not. So, if anyone has any ideas please let me know. There are two addresses listed in the Html and I tried them both. I did have fun on my trip to Round-Top with my sister. I will post about that next.
REVOLTING DEVELOPMENT--When I edited the post, the photo disappeared--where did it go? I had another one in a draft from working on my profile so I just published it until I can get home and upload another one in the right place! OOOOOOOOOHHHH MMMMMMMeeeeeeeee
